Thank you Rachelle…being open and honest about our feelings and where we are at is really good and like you said helps us recognize where we are placing our trust and reliance. Trying to not be anxious in this trying time…I do know Gods right here with us and that trust is certainly being tested!
Stay healthy and we will be keeping scarlet Hope in our prayers!
I admire you and your work so deeply, Rachelle. You (I’m a bit forgetful so, sorry, it may have been a representative of Scarlett’s Hope as it was some time ago) spoke to our Sunday School Class (Friendship Class) at Christ Church United Methodist a couple of years ago. Our class was riveted and so very impressed with the work you and your volunteers had begun, Scarlett’s Hope became a line item on our annual Christmas giving collection for local charities we loved. That was even pre-bakery, I think. Since then we had all made an effort to visit the bakery on Oak enjoying your yummy breakfast baked goods in classes and meetings. I was so surprised and excited to learn of the St. Matthews location when it opened. Things seemed to be progressing so nicely. Now, this setback. With your faith and attitude, I pray that’s all this is, a setback to learn and understand the value of the challenges God has handed you and to find new ways to face these new challenges.
I would love to know if you see any helpful involvement roles where CCUM be of some use.
I was especially concerned if any of the girls from the bakery have found new employment, I see in the news the future opening of a neighborhood West End grocery store headed up by Megan Bell (YAY!) https://www.bizjournals.com/louisville/news/2020/04/08/louisville-entrepreneur-pioneering-effort-to-bring.html. At present they have created a mobile grocery store until the physical store opens, but I was wondering if they would be needing employees. I may be way behind the curve on this but wanted to pass along. You are likely already aware of all!
(Sorry this message is so lengthy and public. I would have messaged you on Facebook but couldn’t)
You are a beautiful force of nature!
Respectfully,
Laura
Laura, thank you so much for your sweet kind comment. We are trusting that in this time God will direct our path and that everyone will continue to lean on him through this pandemic. Thank you so much for supporting our ministry through CCUM. We are so thankful like you all. If you want to find out new ways to get involved we’d love to help you with that. You can email our team: development@scarlethope.org and we’d love to connect with you.
